Job summary

Extendicare is a Canadian senior care provider hiring for a part-time kitchen leadership role at the Tuxedo Villa Home in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You will lead meal preparation, ensure safety, and supervise staff in a busy food service environment.

Ideal candidates have a cook’s certificate or institutional cooking experience, strong English literacy, and leadership skills; a Food Handler certificate is a plus. Base compensation reflects this part-time role within our rewards program.

Qualifications

• Cook's certificate or experience in institutional large quantity cooking preferred.
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to read and write English, and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
• Proven ability to provide direction and lead others within a busy environment.
• Current Food Handler's Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews regular and therapeutic menus and sets up equipment and supplies for food preparation, following standardized recipes.
• Prepares meals and nourishments, ensuring correct texture, portions, temperatures and timely service.
