Sapphire Health Services in Portland, OR is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. The role oversees budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance to support high-quality senior care services.

You will develop policies, manage month-end and year-end closes, coordinate audits and tax filings, supervise staff, and provide strategic financial insights to improve performance and safeguard assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting or financial management experience.
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Proficiency in Excel; Sage Intacct experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting, budgeting, and reporting activities.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and internal controls.
• Prepare financial statements for management and external stakeholders.
• Lead audits and address audit findings.
• Guide cross-departmental decision-making and supervise staff.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Participate in audits and tax filings.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks.
• Provide insights to improve financial performance.
