Job summary

Good Samaritan Society is seeking an Environmental Services Technician for a full-time day shift in Canistota, SD. The role focuses on maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for patients, residents, and staff by following infection control and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient/resident rooms and common areas, operating cleaning equipment, and supporting laundry tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
• Follow infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors with appropriate equipment.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Wear protective equipment and keep storage and carts clean and tidy.
