Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a food service role is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of shortages or needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the dietary team to ensure kitchen and dining areas run smoothly and assist with food prep and service.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ preferences are met during meals.
