Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer III for the Echocardiography Lab in Ohio. The role requires independent performance of advanced echocardiograms and mentorship of students and staff, with on-call duties as assigned.

Qualifications include 5+ years of echo experience, ASE membership, and an active cardiology sonography credential. This on-site position at Cleveland facilities offers a sign-on bonus for eligible external hires.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Technology or Cardiac Sonography Program (Required)
• Member of the American Society of Echocardiography (Required)
• 5+ years echo experience in a tertiary care setting (Required)
• Registration as RCS or RDCS (Required Upon Hire)
• Basic Life Support (Required Upon Hire)

Responsibilities

• Performs complete echocardiographic exams (2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, TEE if applicable) per lab standards.
• Precepts students and junior staff; mentors fellows and conducts in-services.
• Maintains accurate documentation and ensures proper billing data.
• Responds to patient needs and prioritizes care in various settings (ICU/OR/ER).
• Participates in on-call coverage and lab rounds/conferences.
• Supports quality improvement and research activities as applicable.
