Job description

Senior Cardiac Sonographer

Join our esteemed medical team as a Senior Cardiac Sonographer at our San Francisco location, where we emphasize precision, expertise, and a patient-focused approach in cardiac care. This full-time position offers a rewarding professional experience in a highly specialized and supportive environment. You will perform echocardiographic ultrasound studies, develop preliminary reports, and contribute extensively to our cardiovascular diagnostic services using advanced medical technology. This role is designed for the proficient practitioner ready to take their skill set to a higher level of clinical excellence and patient care.

Salary: $165,000.00 - $205,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform echocardiographic ultrasound studies on a diverse patient demographic, adhering to the highest standards set by the medical facility.
  • Interpret data acquired from echocardiographic exams and develop preliminary reports following departmental procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other sonographer staff to complete scheduled and emergency echocardiographic exams efficiently.
  • Maintain proficiency in all clinical modalities offered in the Echo Lab, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
  • Contribute to the team efforts by maintaining clear communication, initiating improvements, and displaying exceptional productivity in all job functions.
  • Participate in the rotation for weekend coverage and be flexible in scheduling to fulfill department needs.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Current registry through ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS, RCCS, ACS) mandatory.
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound training program specific to cardiac sonography.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification.
  • Minimum of one year post-graduate experience performing adult cardiac echocardiograms.
  • Flexibility in work hours, including availability for weekend, holiday shifts, and at various medical center locations.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience with congenital heart disease patients and/or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) patients.
  • Experience with adult congenital, structural heart conditions, heart and lung transplants, and advanced heart failure treatments.
  • Familiarity with VAD, ECMO, TAVR, and Mitra-Clip among other advanced therapeutic procedures.
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR and Syngo Dynamics systems.

Skills:

  • Expertise in adult cardiac echocardiography with demonstrated clinical proficiency.
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical abilities to assess echocardiogram results accurately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training in cardiac sonography.
