Job summary
UC Davis Health is seeking a Senior Cardiac Perfusionist to operate extracorporeal circulation equipment during complex cardiac surgeries for both pediatric and adult patients. You will manage CPB, ECMO, and related devices, ensuring patient safety and contributing to protocol development and quality improvements.
The role requires extensive experience, CCP/ABCP certification, and strong collaboration with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
Qualifications
- CCC/PCCP certification and ABCP approval are required.
- PALS and BLS/UC Davis Health CPR are required.
- Bachelor’s degree and graduation from an accredited perfusion program are required.
- Five years adult cardiac perfusion at a Level 1 trauma center is required.
- Five years pediatric cardiac perfusion at a Level 1 trauma center is required.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor heart-lung machines and circulatory support devices.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to protocol development and quality improvement.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Document case logs and maintain equipment and safety standards.
- Support research, education, and innovation within the department.
