Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Cedar Crest is seeking an experienced echocardiography technologist to operate transthoracic and stress echocardiography equipment and perform high-quality imaging for adult and geriatric patients. You will measure chambers, assess blood flow, and document findings in the patient record.

You will prepare patients, review clinical data, monitor during testing, and assist with contrast or IV access when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with Cardiac Ultrasound on-the-job training and registry within specified time
• Technical School Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound with registry within 1 year of hire
• Knowledge of cardiac ultrasound physics and anatomy/physiology
• Ability to operate diverse ultrasound equipment and optimize images

Responsibilities

• Performs transthoracic and stress echocardiography on adults/geriatric patients per protocol
• Prepares and reviews patient history, explains procedure, and monitors wellbeing during tests
• Provides IV access/UEA when needed
• Proctors trainees and students as required
• Contributes to echocardiography quality improvement initiatives and safety standards
• Communicates effectively with directors, managers, and colleagues
• Notifies and follows up on equipment failures and maintenance
