Job summary

Ramboll is seeking a Lead Consultant for Carbon Accounting & Decarbonization in Boston. You will lead corporate GHG accounting (Scopes 1–3), drive decarbonization initiatives, and manage data for diverse clients within Ramboll’s Air & Climate team.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary groups to integrate climate action with ESG strategies, and support regulatory disclosures while mentoring junior staff in a hybrid Boston office setting.

Qualifications

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of sustainability, decarbonization, and consulting experience.
• Expertise in GHG inventory calculations, including Scope 1–3 emissions accounting in accordance with the GHG Protocol.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, spreadsheet, and database skills.
• Self-motivated professional with sound judgment and the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead corporate GHG accounting (Scopes 1, 2, and 3), decarbonization initiatives, and carbon data management for diverse clients.
• Support regulatory and voluntary climate disclosure reporting, including California SB 253, GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, and other emerging standards.
• Provide technical leadership by conducting emissions analyses, Scope 3 assessments, and greenhouse gas verification activities.
• Ensure high-quality project delivery by managing scope, schedule, budget, data quality, and client expectations.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to integrate GHG accounting with broader sustainability, climate risk, LCA, and ESG strategies.
