Ramboll US Corporation in Boston seeks a Carbon Accounting & Decarbonization Lead Consultant to join the Air & Climate Global Service Line.

Based in Boston's Financial District, you will drive corporate GHG accounting, decarbonization initiatives, and data management for diverse clients, while engaging in regulatory disclosures and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of sustainability, decarbonization, and consulting experience.
• Expertise in GHG inventory calculations, including Scope 1-3 emissions accounting in accordance with the GHG Protocol.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, spreadsheet, and database skills.
• Self-motivated professional with sound judgment and the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Ramboll is seeking a Carbon Accounting & Decarbonization Lead Consultant to join our Boston office Based in Boston's Financial District on Broad Street, our office offers an energizing location with easy access to public transportation and a highly walkable downtown setting. Your new role

As our new Carbon Accounting & Decarbonization Lead Consultant, you will be part of the Air & Climate Global Service Line within Ramboll's Environment & Health Division. Our group consists of energetic, caring individuals who are passionate about helping Ramboll's clients tackle their most challenging problems related to climate change and sustainability. Our team consults with clients across various industries on a range of topics, using technical analyses, including carbon emissions, to inform our client's sustainability approach in areas as varied as: carbon strategy; corporate sustainability initiatives; climate risk evaluation; climate action planning; and regulatory climate disclosures. The individual we seek will: work in multi-disciplinary teams; analyze and communicate information; work cooperatively to guide decision-making; and evolve Ramboll's use of software and emerging technology in our work.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Lead corporate GHG accounting (Scopes 1, 2, and 3), decarbonization initiatives, and carbon data management for diverse clients.
• Support regulatory and voluntary climate disclosure reporting, including California SB 253, GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, and other emerging standards.
• Provide technical leadership by conducting emissions analyses, Scope 3 assessments, and greenhouse gas verification activities.
• Ensure high-quality project delivery by managing scope, schedule, budget, data quality, and client expectations.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to integrate GHG accounting with broader sustainability, climate risk, LCA, and ESG strategies.

Qualifications

About you

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of sustainability, decarbonization, and consulting experience.
• Expertise in GHG inventory calculations, including Scope 1-3 emissions accounting in accordance with the GHG Protocol.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, spreadsheet, and database skills.
• Self-motivated professional with sound judgment and the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.

Other Desirable Skills include:

• Experience supporting organizations with mandatory climate disclosures, including California SB 253 and emerging U.S. and international GHG reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of climate accounting standards, methodologies, and reporting frameworks, including GHGP, IFRS S1/S2, CDP, SASB, GRI, GRESB, and PCAF.
• Professional certifications or formal training in GHG accounting, verification, or related standards (GHGP, WRI, ISO, etc.).
• Experience with audit, assurance, and GHG verification engagements.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to diverse project stakeholders.

Salary Transparency Statement

At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $82,500-$107,000per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
