Job summary

The City of Savannah is seeking a Senior Capital Project Manager to lead capital improvement projects from planning through design and construction. This role oversees budgets, schedules, contracts, and coordination with stakeholders, consultants, and city departments for projects ranging from small to $50M+.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and four years of design/construction management experience; professional licensure or PMP is required or obtainable within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or closely related field with four (4) years of design/construction management experience.
• Requires one of the following or the ability to obtain within 1 year of onboarding: Georgia PE license, Registered Architect license or PMP certification.
• Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects from planning through design and construction; manage contracts.
• Communicate with stakeholders, architects, contractors, vendors, and city management for decision-making.
• Update and manage project schedules, costs, and budgets throughout the lifecycle.
• Review design submittals and ensure quality, cost, and constructability adherence.
• Coordinate approvals, permits, and compliance with regulatory bodies.
• Close-out procedures and maintain project documentation.
