Job summary

Charles Schwab Technology Services seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Capacity Planning team within OCTO. You will drive capacity, availability, and scalability assessments for KBTs and platforms, perform root cause analyses, and monitor key metrics to reduce incidents.

You will also translate leadership asks into requirements for AI-assisted software development. The role emphasizes on-site collaboration in Texas and across the organization, with a focus on system and data

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years in application hosting, development, architecture, and design in regulated industries.
• 7+ years in Python data science stack or Java development.
• 7+ years in database principles (SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• 5+ years in data mining, BI, analytics, visualization (Power BI).
• 5+ years in monitoring/alerting tools (Grafana) and automation.
• 5+ years solving capacity/scalability incidents and health assessments.
• 3+ years influencing at all organizational levels.
• 3+ years cloud-native design experience.
• 2+ years governing architecture.

Responsibilities

• Drive capacity planning and end-to-end scalability assessments for Key Business Transactions and platforms.
• Perform root cause analysis and business impact analysis for capacity-related incidents.
• Monitor metrics, generate insights, and improve application health across domains.
• Collaborate with leadership to translate requirements into technical specs for AI-assisted development.
