NMSU Dona Ana Community College seeks a Security Officer Senior to provide a visible security presence, protect college property, and deter incidents across multiple campus locations. The role reports to DACC Facilities Support and requires completion of initial training, firearms familiarity, and a background check; candidates must be at least 21 and hold a valid NM driver’s license.

This full-time position is non-exempt with AFSCME bargaining unit, and offers opportunities for event security

Qualifications

• High School diploma + 3 years of relevant experience or an Associate’s Degree + 1 year of relevant experience.
• Must be 21 years old or older and legally able to purchase/carry a handgun.
• Must complete minimum of 80 hours of initial training and obtain certification through NMSU Police Department within six (6) months from the date of hire.

Responsabilités

• Provides a uniformed presence to deter illegal activity.
• Communicates with law enforcement and the public about safety concerns.
• Warns violators and detains or evicts them as needed per policy.
• Monitors entrances to guard against theft and maintain security.
