Job summary

NANA Management Services is seeking a Security Officer to provide services across a busy college environment and surrounding areas, prioritizing health, safety and security.

The role includes licensing training, PTO, and health benefits for eligible employees, with licensing cost covered by NMS. The position emphasizes de-escalation, quick decision-making, and duty in various assignments, including roving and post checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Two years of security, law enforcement or military experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Must have State of New York Security Guard License; NMS covers licensing cost.

Responsibilities

• Monitors assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly; roves inside facilities or grounds.
• Ensures safety and compliance in actions of self and others.
• De-escalates situations to protect employees, customers, and clients.
• Inspects doors, windows, and areas to ensure security.
• Reports incidents and data per policy.
• Warns violators and may apprehend or remove them.
• Notifies on-site personnel of visitors and emergencies.
• Responds to emergencies or disasters to preserve life and property.
• May input or monitor safety/life support systems.
• May issue and record ID badges.
• May check facility systems (heating, lighting, fire, etc.).
• Performs other duties pertinent to department; no supervisory role.
