Job summary

New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) seeks a Senior Security Officer to protect people and property across campus facilities, offices, grounds, and parking areas. Under supervision, you will maintain orderly conditions, monitor access, and respond to incidents with a calm, proactive approach.

This full-time role requires at least two years of security experience, CPR/First Aid certification, and a commitment to safety, customer service, and teamwork within the University Police scope.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years security experience.
• Prior security officer training.
• CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safety and security of persons and property in NJIT buildings, grounds and parking areas, including access control and incident reporting.
• Patrols campus to detect hazards and criminal activity, ensures only authorized persons are on premises, and assists in emergencies.
• Assists University Police in emergencies, crowd management, evacuations, and at special events and ceremonies.
• Provides post duties and visitor assistance to maintain a secure campus environment.
