Job summary

New Jersey Institute of Technology is seeking a Senior Security Officer to support the Public Safety and Security team. You will protect people and property on NJIT-owned buildings, grounds and parking areas, performing patrols, post security, and emergency assistance as needed.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires a minimum of two years in security and CPR/First Aid certification. The department emphasizes safety, vigilance, and timely reporting during shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years security experience.
• Prior security officer training.
• CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security for people and property on NJIT premises.
• Patrol campus to detect hazards and prevent unauthorized access.
• Assist in emergency situations and crowd control at events.
• Provide visitor and staff assistance and maintain posts.
• Provide relief for Police Officers in the field.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
