Job summary

The Campaign Director at Dallas Symphony Orchestra leads the philanthropic strategy, advancing the orchestra’s fundraising vision and long-term sustainability. This role oversees campaign planning, dashboards, and reporting, while partnering with senior Development leadership, staff, and volunteers to drive results in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities include campaign operations across departments, portfolio management, gift documentation, donor recognition, and stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Experience leading campaigns, leadership giving, or major-gift operations.
• Strong project management skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Excellent writing and editing ability for donor-facing materials.
• High level of discretion and professionalism with confidential information.
• CRM experience (Tessitura, Raiser’s Edge, or comparable system).
• Experience supporting capital or endowment campaigns.
• Familiarity with prospect research, donor analytics, and moves management.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.

Responsibilities

• Lead all campaign operations, coordinating timelines, milestones, and workflows across Development, Finance, Marketing, and Executive leadership.
• Lead all phases of campaign efforts, ensuring accurate goal tracking and internal reporting.
• Maintain campaign calendars, benchmarks, and deliverables with accountability and follow-through.
• Qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects.
• Draft, edit, and assemble clear, persuasive campaign proposals and donor materials.
• Lead, prepare, and manage gift agreements and supporting documentation with Finance and Development Operations.
• Maintain real-time tracking of prospects and donors within the CRM system with moves management and forecasting.
• Produce dashboards, reports, and briefings for leadership, trustees, and campaign committees.
