Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a Senior Camp Counselor to lead games, activities, and special events, creating a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for every camper. You’ll mentor counselors, oversee groups, and stay active all day.

CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it, 18+, a high school diploma, and background check are required. This summer role offers a bi-weekly paycheck, a Free Y membership, and opportunities to build leadership and resume-ready skills

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and a high school graduate.
• Camp or youth experience and leadership ability.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it; background check clearance.

Responsibilities

• Be the heart of camp—leading games, activities and events.
• Mentor counselors and support your team.
• Oversee camper groups.
• Keep things safe, fun and inclusive for everyone.
• Participate actively, including water balloon activities.
