Job summary

Lucid Motors in the United States is seeking an experienced camera hardware engineer to drive design, testing, and validation of camera modules for advanced driver-assistance systems. You will lead partnerships with fabrication and testing partners and work with cross-functional teams across product design, electrical, and optical engineering.

Ideal candidates have strong lab experience, knowledge of automotive networks, and the ability to troubleshoot complex sensor issues while driving

Qualifications

• 5+ years in camera hardware development and lab validation.
• Experience in camera module design and image quality.
• Experience designing laboratory experiments for camera testing.
• Strong knowledge of Electrical/EMC validation testing.
• Understanding of vehicle networks (Ethernet, CAN, LIN).
• Experience with Git/Jenkins for regression testing.
• Knowledge of sensor calibration and validation methods.
• Familiar with camera SerDes architecture.
• Excellent communication and supplier management.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate capabilities of state-of-the-art image sensor prototypes.
• Lead manufacturing partners on camera hardware design evaluation, prototyping, qualification, and production bring up.
• Develop camera requirements and specs for design, test, and manufacturing of camera modules
• Define signals exchanged between sensors and other vehicle systems
• Be responsible for vehicle level verification, validation, and tuning of sensor hardware
• Assist in sensor calibration and production manufacturing processes
• Interact with cross-functional engineering teams for camera hardware development and system integration
• Coordinate camera sub-system validation and testing in labs and manufacturing sites
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems using diagnostic tools
• Perform failure analysis and debugging of camera hardware at module and product levels
• Design methodologies to identify, reproduce, and fix design problems
