Mission Recruiting, LLC is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney in California to manage civil litigation from intake to resolution. You will communicate with clients, conduct research, shape strategy, draft pleadings, conduct depositions, and handle hearings and trials as first or second chair.

Ideal candidates have 10–15 years of civil litigation experience or 5–7 years with meaningful hands-on practice, including trial work and supervision of staff.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active California State Bar in good standing.
• Primary profile: 10–15 years of attorney experience.
• Associate-level: 5–7 years with substantial hands-on litigation.
• Must have first- or second-chair experience in at least 20 CA trials.
• Experience with California hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Strong research, writing, negotiation, and oral communication.
• Ability to communicate professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Experience supervising paralegal and support staff.
• Proficient with PDF editing software, cloud platforms, and digital tools.
• CA driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Southern California location preferred due to in-person proceedings.
• Experience in commercial landlord-tenant and related real estate disputes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters from intake through resolution.
• Develop litigation strategy with Managing Partner and client.
• Research statutes, case law, regulations and authorities.
• Investigate facts and analyze legal issues.
• Draft complaints, answers, motions, discovery, memos and pleadings.
• Take and defend depositions; appear at hearings and trials.
• Negotiate and pursue practical resolutions aligned with client objectives.
• Communicate directly with clients; provide timely case updates.
• Maintain case files, deadlines, databases, and time entries.
• Supervise paralegal and legal assistant; coordinate workflow.
