Job summary

Medical Technology Associates (MTA) in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Senior Operations Manager - Calibrations to lead metrology, calibration, and first article inspection services. You will oversee technicians, drive staffing, schedules, and performance, and ensure compliant, cost-effective delivery with P&L responsibility.

You will partner with sales and quality teams to meet regulatory expectations, promote continuous improvement, and sustain high customer satisfaction while scaling the calibration

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in calibration, metrology, or inspection; senior technical or leadership experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, NIST traceability, and inspection practices.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams in a regulated environment.
• Proven ability to balance technical involvement with operational and people leadership responsibilities.
• Strong customer-facing communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage calibration and inspection technicians across assigned laboratories.
• Approve schedules, staffing coverage, overtime, and PTO.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action as needed.
• Partner with Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, disciplinary actions, and succession planning.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill coverage to meet service commitments and customer demand.
