This position will focus on maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on a variety of instruments, including process/utility/laboratory instruments such as refrigerators, freezers, transmitters, monitors, incubators, centrifuges, autoclaves, pipettes, balances, pressure, and temperature devices. Experience with computer-based calibration tracking programs (CMMS) is desired.

Up to fifty percent travel may be required based on project and client needs, but the majority of work is projected to be in San Diego.

Expectations:
  • Complete calibrations, qualifications, and PMs with accurate and timely GxP documentation, following PCI and/or client-specific policies and procedures.
  • Support the team proactively and provide excellent client support, building trust through honesty, integrity, pride, accountability, teamwork, and commitment.
  • Identify and execute tasks that add value to PCI services, troubleshoot issues, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Build high-level interactions with clients, providing strategic direction and demonstrating expertise through thoroughness, reliability, and follow-through.
Responsibilities/Assignments:
  • Oversee and supervise calibrations, qualifications, and PMs, ensuring proper documentation and safety.
  • Provide guidance and effective solutions to clients and PCI resources.
  • Mentor and role model PCI values to associates.
  • Ensure proper handling and maintenance of equipment, training others as needed.
  • Develop client quotes and proposals.
  • Manage project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and financial aspects, including scope changes.
  • Assess safety concerns and ensure compliance.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, seeking to expand PCI services, potentially leading projects or serving as an account manager.
Skills Required:
  • Expertise in instrument, equipment, and loop calibrations in various environments.
  • Exceptional CMMS skills.
  • Proficiency with MAS500 Pivot Table and project KPI modules.
  • Ability to develop and interpret policies, regulations, and calibration principles, and train staff.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong electrical panel knowledge and safety practices.
  • Understanding of financial implications and business cases.
  • Active involvement in professional organizations; external certifications preferred.
Experience & Education:

A four-year degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Electronics, or related field, or equivalent military training plus four+ years of relevant experience, including GMP/GLP experience. Salary range: $40-$48 per hour.

PCI serves pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and clinical research industries with calibration and consulting solutions, employing highly trained personnel knowledgeable in FDA, EPA, and ISO standards. PCI is part of FCX Performance and Applied Industrial Technologies.
