Job summary

Asplundh Electrical Testing (AET) seeks a Lead Calibration Technician in Desert Center, CA to oversee calibration activities and mentor a skilled team. You will ensure traceability to NIST or equivalent standards, develop procedures, and manage calibration records across multiple platforms.

You will lead root-cause investigations, drive CAPA, and coordinate with auditors to demonstrate compliance. This role blends hands-on testing with leadership in process improvements and customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Metrology, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Engineering.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on calibration experience with traceability.
• Proficient with electrical measurement principles and uncertainty analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform and verify in-lab and on-site calibrations with full traceability.
• Develop calibration procedures and uncertainty budgets per ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540.
• Manage calibration records using MET/CAL, MET/TEAM, and Fluke portals.
• Analyze data for trends and propose corrective actions to improve accuracy.
• Lead external calibration vendors and ensure environmental tolerances.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement CAPA for nonconformances.
• Prepare performance reports using Crystal Reports and Excel.
• Support audits with traceability and compliance evidence.
• Train and mentor calibration technicians for safety and quality.
• Serve as technical liaison to customers and provide guidance.
• Drive continuous improvement in throughput and customer satisfaction.
