Job summary

Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a cafeteria worker to perform all types of food preparation, baking, and cooking in a school cafeteria. The role includes cashiering duties, serving students, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen and dining area.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and at least six months of food handling or cashiering experience; a Food Handler’s Card must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and six months of food handling, service, preparation and/or cashiering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing and cooking foods, including baking and various food prep tasks.
• Collects money for lunches, balances cash drawers, and assists with daily cash reports.
• Serves and replenishes food supply.
• Cleans cafeteria and kitchen areas, including tables, floors, refrigerators, ovens, and related equipment.
• Prepares cafeteria for meals, arranges utensils, trays, and serving areas.
• Monitors inventory and counts unused food after service.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
