Job summary

Desert Canyon Middle School in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Limited Appointment Senior Nutritional Services Worker to support daily cafeteria operations, prepare and cook foods, and perform cashiering tasks in a 6-hour/day role.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and six months of food handling, service, or cashiering experience, with the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card within 30 days of employment. This is a non-exempt, hourly position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D., and six months of food handling, service, preparation and/or cashiering experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing and cooking foods, including baking and other related activities.
• Collects money for lunches, balances cash drawers, and assists with daily cash reports.
• Serves and replenishes food supply.
• Cleans cafeteria and/or kitchen areas, including tables, floors, and equipment.
• Prepares cafeteria for meals, rotates foods, and ensures utensils and napkins are available.
• Assists with monitoring food inventory and performs counts after daily meal service.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
