Job summary

Cadence Design Systems is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide deep technical leadership in CAE pre-processing for MSC Apex. You will design, develop, and guide advanced capabilities for model setup, materials, properties, and solver deck preparation, ensuring robust, scalable workflows.

You will serve as a senior technical authority, partnering with product management, architecture, QA, and engineering teams to translate customer workflow needs into actionable solutions while mentoring

Qualifications

12+ years of software engineering in CAE, simulation, or scientific computing.
Deep CAE pre-processing expertise including model organization and solver setup.
Strong C++ development experience for large-scale engineering apps.
Experience with CAE products like MSC Apex or ANSYS.
Ability to guide architecture while balancing performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

Architect and develop CAE pre-processing capabilities for robust, scalable workflows.
Lead model setup workflows, entity organization, materials, properties, loads, and solver prep.
Serve as senior authority for design reviews, risk analysis, and long-term architecture decisions.
Collaborate with product management, architecture, QA, and engineering to translate customer needs.
Mentor engineers on CAE data models, workflow concepts, and code quality.
Investigate defects, performance bottlenecks, and validation issues to drive resolution.
Contribute to technical roadmaps and communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders.
