Cadence in the United States seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead CAE pre-processing for MSC Apex. You will design and implement advanced model setup, entity management, materials, properties, and solver deck preparation, while guiding architecture and cross-functional teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive performance optimizations, and ensure robust, scalable pre-processing workflows aligned with customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or related engineering discipline.
• Experience delivering commercial or enterprise engineering software, including CAE pre-processing workflows.
• Strong proficiency in C++ for high-performance engineering and data-intensive desktop applications.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop advanced CAE pre-processing capabilities for engineering simulation products, ensuring robustness, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Provide technical leadership for model setup workflows, entity organization, materials, properties, loads, boundary conditions, connections, coordinate systems, units, and solver-specific preparation.
• Mentor engineers on CAE data models, solver workflow concepts, design patterns, code quality, testing strategy, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product management, architecture, QA, and engineering teams to translate customer workflow needs into actionable technical solutions.
