Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Epic Cadence Analyst to join our healthcare IT team in Houston, Texas. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for the design, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of Epic Cadence and related applications, with a strong focus on scheduling workflows, provider records, referrals, authorizations, patient access, and MyChart functionality.

This position will work closely with clinical and operational stakeholders, IT teams, leadership, and end users to translate business requirements into effective Epic solutions. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly collaborative, comfortable managing competing priorities, and confident communicating complex technical concepts in clear, non-technical language.

The Senior Epic Cadence Analyst will also play an important role in project delivery, workflow optimization, system maintenance, issue resolution, and the implementation of new functionality as organizational needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic Cadence functionality and related patient access workflows.
  • Perform Decision Tree build and configuration to support scheduling and patient access workflows.
  • Manage and maintain Provider Records (SER build), ensuring provider information is accurate and appropriately configured.
  • Design and maintain Welcome Kiosk functionality and workflows.
  • Support and build Referrals and Authorization functionality, including associated workflows and work queues.
  • Configure and maintain Patient, Authorization, and Referral Work Queues (WQs).
  • Perform Ticket Scheduling build and support related scheduling workflows.
  • Provide MyChart support, troubleshooting, workflow analysis, and configuration as needed.
  • Support and participate in Epic Cheers configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Support and maintain Epic Provider Finder functionality.
  • Analyze business and operational requirements and translate them into scalable Epic solutions.
  • Partner with end users and stakeholders to identify workflow improvements and system optimization opportunities.
  • Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, testing, implementations, and other Epic-related projects.
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues and coordinate resolution with appropriate technical and operational teams.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, build specifications, testing materials, and operational procedures.
  • Lead or participate in project meetings and communicate project status, risks, decisions, and action items.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining high-quality application support and delivery.
  • Ensure Epic configuration and workflow changes follow established organizational standards, governance, and change-management processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience supporting and/or building Epic Cadence.
  • Demonstrated experience with Epic scheduling and patient access workflows.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:

Epic Certifications

Preferred Epic certifications include:

  • Epic Cadence
  • Epic Prelude
  • Epic Ambulatory
  • Epic RTE

Candidates with multiple relevant Epic certifications and strong hands-on application build experience are highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare IT experience within a hospital, health system, medical group, or similar healthcare environment.
  • Experience with Epic patient access and scheduling workflows.
  • Experience supporting large-scale Epic implementations, optimization initiatives, or system upgrades.
  • Experience collaborating across clinical, operational, and IT teams.
  • Experience leading application-related projects from requirements gathering through implementation.
  • Familiarity with Epic governance, change management, testing, and release processes.
  • Experience with Epic Cheers and/or Provider Finder is highly desirable.
