Job summary

Actalent is seeking a dedicated CAD Technician in Virginia Beach to prepare survey plats and maps, ensuring compliance with VDOT, USACE, and NAVFAC requirements. The role involves data processing from survey crews, CAD file creation, and occasional fieldwork with travel across Virginia and surrounding states.

Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of surveying experience and proficiency in Carlson, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation with GeoPak/OpenRoads.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of surveying-related experience.
• Completion of a Survey/CAD related degree may substitute for two years of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare survey plats and maps including boundary, as-built, topographic, and utility route surveys.
• Ensure compliance with agency requirements (VDOT, USACE, NAVFAC).
• Manage individual projects effectively and conduct courthouse research as needed.
• Process data collected by survey crews and prepare CAD files.
• Perform construction staking calculations and occasional fieldwork.
