About the Opportunity
Our client, an established full-service civil engineering and land surveying firm with more than 30 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Senior CADD Technician to join their growing team and work fully onsite from the office in Urbandale, Iowa.
In this role, you'll help deliver a wide variety of civil engineering projects from concept through construction while collaborating with engineers, surveyors, contractors, and clients. Projects include transportation infrastructure, municipal improvements, commercial and industrial developments, residential communities, and more.

What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor a team of CADD Technicians.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and construction documents using MicroStation and OpenRoads.
- Develop project details, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and maintain construction records and project documentation.
- Perform construction site observations and inspections to verify compliance with plans, specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.
- Document and report field observations, deficiencies, and project variances.
- Collaborate professionally with engineers, survey crews, contractors, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Assist survey teams with field work when needed, including operation of Trimble GPS and Trimble Office equipment.
- Support projects from initial design through construction administration.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), Civil Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of CADD experience in civil engineering.
- Advanced proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering plans, construction documentation, and drafting standards.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Stable work history with a proven track record of success.
