Job summary

Civil Design Advantage (CDA) is seeking a Civil Design CAD Technician for full-time work in Iowa. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to deliver civil design services for a wide range of public and private land development projects across the Midwest.

The role focuses on CAD drafting, master planning, and site design using Civil 3D and AutoCAD, with opportunities to contribute to cost opinions and construction administration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• An Associate degree or equivalent is required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with reliability and professionalism.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design team to complete Civil 3D drafting tasks.
• Draft concepts and master plans for projects.
• Perform roadway drafting and design.
• Prepare site layout and geometric drafting.
• Draft site utilities and grading designs.
• Create construction drawings and specs.
• Perform detail design and quality control reviews.
• Prepare Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans.
• Assist with cost opinions.
• Potentially support Construction Administration and observation.

Civil Design CAD Technician

Civil Design Advantage (CDA) is accepting applications for a full-time Civil Design CAD Technician. CDA is looking for a self-motivated, highly organized, and ambitious professional to play a key role in civil engineering design for projects of all kinds. Candidate will work directly with project managers, civil engineers, landscape architects, and design team members in a fast-paced, high-culture environment, providing civil engineering services for projects across the state of Iowa and within the Midwest, including a wide variety of public and private land development projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design team members to complete Civil 3D drafting tasks.
• Draft and prepare concepts and master plans.
• Roadway drafting and design.
• Site layout and geometric drafting and design.
• Site utility drafting and design.
• Grading drafting and design.
• Construction drawings and specification preparation.
• Detail design.
• Perform quality control review progress and final drawings.
• Preparation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans.
• Assist with preparation of Cost Opinions.
• Potential for assistance with Construction Administration and Observation.
