Job summary

Exacta Land Surveyors LLC in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking a CAD Survey Tech – Residential Land Surveying who will review complex survey work, coach staff, and coordinate with Professional Land Surveyors on boundary matters.

Under the supervision of the Survey Drafting Manager, you will support internal and outsourced drafting teams, provide real-time guidance, and help ensure accuracy and timely delivery while contributing to performance reviews and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or GED required; Associates/Technical Degree or higher preferred.
• 3+ years of successful land surveying drafting, checking, or survey technician experience; applied CAD experience.
• Strong working knowledge of residential survey preparation, CAD operations, survey calculations, record information, and boundary-related research.
• Able to communicate technical feedback clearly and professionally; demonstrated ability to coach others, solve problems, and support consistent business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Review complex residential survey work prepared by internal drafters and third-party outsourcing partners for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with Exacta standards.
• Coach and mentor drafting staff by providing clear, constructive feedback and helping develop skills for accurate work independently.
• Identify recurring drafting issues and coach team members to address root causes and improve quality.
• Provide real-time technical guidance to drafters on complex survey and boundary issues, focusing on development.
• Coordinate with Professional Land Surveyors on complex survey and boundary matters, including research, calculations, and boundary resolutions.
• Act as a technical resource between drafting staff and the PLS team, preparing complex files for PLS review and escalation where needed.
• Provide technical support to field survey crews, including point coordinate files and field calculations.
• Attend weekly performance meetings to review productivity and quality and identify process-improvement opportunities.
