Job summary

Exacta is hiring a CAD Survey Tech – Residential Land Surveying in Cleveland, OH. The role focuses on reviewing residential survey work, coaching drafting staff, and coordinating with Professional Land Surveyors on complex boundary matters to ensure accurate and timely survey prep.

The position supports the drafting team across internal and outsourced partners, with opportunities to mentor others, improve processes, and contribute to high-quality outcomes in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma/GED required; Associates / Technical Degree or higher preferred.
• 3+ years of successful land surveying drafting, checking, or survey technician experience; applied CAD experience.
• Strong working knowledge of residential survey preparation, CAD operations, survey calculations, record information, and boundary-related research.
• Able to communicate technical feedback clearly and professionally; demonstrated ability to coach others, solve problems, and support consistent business outcomes.
• Ability to prioritize complex reviews, balance workload demands, and support timely delivery while maintaining quality standards.
• Proficient in the independent application and use of job-related software/e-technology/cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities

• Review complex residential survey work for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with Exacta standards.
• Coach and mentor drafting staff, providing clear feedback and guidance.
• Identify recurring drafting issues and coach staff to address root causes.
• Provide real-time technical guidance on survey, boundary, and drafting issues.
• Coordinate with Professional Land Surveyors on complex matters, including research and development of boundary resolutions.
• Serve as technical resource between drafting staff and the PLS team for efficient review.
• Provide support to field crews with coordinate files and boundary information.
• Attend weekly performance meetings to review productivity and quality trends.
