Job summary

Kratos Defense is seeking a CAD Checker to review drawings, 3D models, and BOMs to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with company standards. This role acts as a critical quality gate, collaborating with designers, engineers, and manufacturing staff to resolve issues before production.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Design or Engineering, 5+ years CAD/drafting experience, and strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.100. Security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of CAD design, drafting, or engineering documentation experience.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, manufacturing processes, machining, welding, and assembly methods.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 standards and their application in drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review 2D drawings, 3D CAD models, BOMs, and related documentation for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with standards.
• Verify dimensional accuracy, GD&T, annotations, notes, and specifications to ensure designs can be manufactured and inspected as intended.
• Ensure consistency between 3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies, part lists, and documentation.
• Identify and document drawing errors, omissions, conflicts, and areas requiring clarification or correction.
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability, assembly feasibility, and processes compliance.
