Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc is seeking a seasoned physical verification engineer to join the CAD group and support back end PV flows. You will develop regression tests, automate verification decks, and assist design teams with Calibre/Pegasus/Hercules across multiple PDKs.

The role requires strong scripting skills (Calibre DesignRev, Tcl/Python/Perl) and deep PV/debug experience, with contributions to DRC rule enhancements and manufacturability checks. 0-25% travel may apply.

Qualifications

7.5–10 years of experience developing and supporting physical verification activities.
Deep knowledge of Calibre scripting and DRC/LVS flows.
Fluent with SVRF and TVF; able to debug PV issues.
Experience with Calibre Interactive and EDA tooling.
Strong Tcl/Tk, Python, and Perl programming skills.
Solid understanding of layout rules, devices, and foundry rules.
Knowledge of DFx, yield, reliability impacts on designs.

Responsibilities

Develop physical verification regression test cases for multiple PDKs.
Support Layout and Design engineers with PV activities using Calibre/Pegasus/Hercules.
Create and maintain verification decks and automate flows.
Collaborate with Technology Development to update DRC rules.
Prepare and debug PV issues; propagate fixes across teams.
