Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a seasoned physical verification engineer to support back-end PV flows and regression testing for diverse PDKs. The role emphasizes scripting, debugging PV issues, and collaboration with design teams across global sites.

You'll work with Calibre, Pegasus, and Hercules, leveraging Tcl/Python/Perl to enhance rules and manufacturability checks, driving reliability and yield improvements in our leading semiconductor designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related field with 10 years of PV experience.
• In depth knowledge of Calibre DesignRev scripting.
• Fluent with SVRF and TVF.
• Experience debugging PV issues with RVE, Vue or other EDA visualizers.
• Familiar with Tcl/Tk, Perl, Python, inside and outside EDA tools.
• Solid knowledge of layout rules, device identification, and foundry rules.
• Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturing solutions affecting quality and yield.
• Prefer extensive knowledge of Calibre/Pegasus/Hercules syntax and semantics.

Responsibilities

• Develop physical verification regression test cases for QA of PV decks.
• Support Layout and Design engineers with PV activities using Calibre, Pegasus, or Hercules.
• Utilize advanced EDA methods to support ESD, ERC, DRC, via doubling, etc.
• Develop and verify foundry rule decks and update design for manufacturability checks.
• Create rule decks to support flows and improve reliability of devices.
• Provide remote-site layout verification support worldwide and debug PV issues.
• Work as part of a team to improve flow quality and device reliability.
