Job summary

Achievers USA in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking an experienced CAD Manager / Senior Civil Designer to lead our Civil 3D production team while continuing high-level design work. This full-time, in-office role owns CAD standards, QC, training, and workload management for a three-person CAD staff, while remaining significantly billable.

You will guide production using Civil 3D, mentor junior staff, and ensure QA/QC across all drawings.

Qualifications

Must have 8+ years of Civil 3D experience in land development, site design, grading, drainage or roadway work.
Ability to produce high-quality plan sets independently.
Experience mentoring or training other CAD users.
Ability to create and enforce CAD standards and QA/QC processes.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Must work full-time in Albuquerque office (not remote).

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the CAD team (three-person staff).
Develop, implement, and maintain Civil 3D standards, templates, data shortcuts, sheet sets, and workflows.
Design and run a formal QA/QC program for all drawings leaving the firm.
Manage CAD schedules, priorities, utilization, and deadlines.
Train and develop existing staff and future CAD hires.
Perform advanced Civil 3D design and plan production (target 50–65% billable).
Support project managers with technical CAD solutions and constructability input.
Continuously improve efficiency and quality of the CAD department.
