Job summary

A semiconductor firm based in Santa Clara, California, is seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer for their Hardware Engineering group. The role involves maintaining CAD infrastructure and ensuring integration of custom circuit designs. A minimum of a BS or MS with at least 6 years of experience is required.

Qualifications

• Self-driven individual with a strong background in Tcl and Python/Perl coding.
• 6+ years of experience in relevant fields with a focus on CAD and physical design.

Responsibilities

• Download, install and maintain FAB collateral.
• Create, test and maintain physical design verification flows such as LVS, DRC, etc.
• Work with data management and revision control systems such as Perforce.
• Download and maintain CAD tools required for custom layout and physical design.
• Contribute to methodologies and best practices across all custom and ASIC designs.

Skills

Experience with physical verification (DRC, LVS, Fill, Density, Antenna, etc)

Excellent working knowledge of Python

Knowledge of scripting tools such as TCL, Perl

Excellent grasp of data management and revision control systems such as Perforce

Experience with physical design tools and flows

Excellent working knowledge of physical design collateral needed from FAB vendors

Some experience with synthesis and physical design (RTL2GDSII)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to create solutions from high-level requirements

Thrives in a dynamic environment with a pro-active mindset
