Job summary

AGSE in California seeks an experienced Senior CAD Designer to lead the conversion of legacy engineering docs into intelligent 3D models and structured assemblies. You will build BOMs and production drawings, preparing data for Autodesk Vault and ERP integration, ensuring alignment with engineering intent and lifecycle goals.

You will collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Document Control to establish scalable workflows, CAD standards, and digital product definitions

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional mechanical CAD experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
• Extensive experience creating complex mechanical assemblies and production drawings.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing documentation and drafting standards.
• Experience developing Bills of Materials for manufactured products.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret legacy engineering documentation and translate it into accurate digital models.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Convert legacy 2D drawings into fully constrained Autodesk Inventor 3D models.
• Develop complete assembly models that accurately represent released designs.
• Create structured BOMs to support manufacturing and ERP integration.
• Generate production drawings from 3D models per drafting standards.
• Ensure CAD models reflect engineering intent and released documentation.
• Prepare data for Autodesk Vault, ERP, and other systems integration.
• Support ECOs by updating CAD models and documents.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Document Control.
• Develop and maintain CAD standards, templates, libraries, and best practices.
• Recommend improvements to improve data quality and long-term value.
• Prepare CAD data to support future automation and lifecycle management.
