Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Senior CAD Designer to develop civil drawings for water and wastewater projects. You will set up, create, and maintain complex civil models, including grading and piping, with strong coordination across disciplines.

Proficiency in Civil 3D/AutoCAD is essential, and you will verify survey data and records for accuracy. You will lead electrical duct bank coordination, perform detailed site grading, and conduct vehicle tracking studies.

Qualifications

• Typically, a minimum of 4 years of civil design or related experience is required.
• Experience in both plan and profile development.
• Prior experience with Civil 3D/AutoCAD software.

Responsibilities

• Set up, create, and maintain complex civil models for piping and grading.
• Verify survey data and GIS information for design implementation.
• Handle pipe layouts and verify compliance with standards.
• Coordinate electrical duct bank site layouts with the electrical engineer.
• Execute detailed grading using feature lines, grading objects, and corridors.
• Conduct vehicle tracking analysis for clearance and functionality.
• Perform visual clash detection and verify ground cover of piping.
• Provide cut/fill calculations for different scenarios as needed.
• Verify client expectations in the BIM execution Plan (BxP) and ensure standards.
• Flexibly adapt to additional assignments as needs evolve.
