Job summary

You will conceptualize, design, engineer, develop and support the launch of full vehicle interior components. You will collaborate with design, supply chain and core teams to set targets for function, cost, weight and investment, develop 3D geometry, verify GD&T, and drive production feasibility through to

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years designing, developing interior subsystems and parts including manufacturing/assembly.
• 5+ years using 3D CAD software (NX, Catia, 3DX, etc.).
• 2+ years of team leadership experience.
• 3+ years of experience in production release processes.
• 3+ years in a factory setting launching a new product.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop interior system requirements and specifications with design, supply chain, and core teams.
• Establish vehicle-aligned targets for function, cost, weight and investment.
• Develop 3D geometry and innovative concepts balancing crash load cases with materials and manufacturing methods.
• Optimize concepts with analytical and physical assessments ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
• Deliver craftsmanship and fit/finish through proper GD&T implementation.
• Develop novel construction techniques and drive production feasibility.
• Communicate with Studio, Packaging, Advanced Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to deliver optimal designs.
• Present concepts and status to senior management and Company personnel.
