Job summary

Peterbilt Motors Company in Denton, Texas is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop cab interior systems for Low Cab Forward platforms. The role focuses on interior trims, instrument panels, storage, and dashboards, collaborating with cross-functional teams to move designs from concept to production.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in Windchill and Creo. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of cab-over vehicle layout and design preferred.
• Experience with heavy truck assembly, components and systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and initiate designs of complex nature and conduct necessary research.
• Support definition of vehicle program.
• Complete design projects through planning, concept development, calculation and design analysis, packaging studies, design, testing, implementation, and evaluation.
• Use Windchill and Creo to create CAD models and drawings.
• Apply knowledge of stress analysis and FEA.
• Apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for chassis components.
• Apply knowledge of GD&T principles.
• Develop and support DFSS activities (FMEA, DVP&R).
• Coordinate with suppliers and other engineering groups.
