Job summary

Sora Resource Group is seeking an experienced California-licensed attorney to join its civil litigation and creditors' rights practice. The role blends courtroom representation with document review, signing, case oversight, and settlement negotiations in a dynamic law firm setting.

The ideal candidate will appear in court, manage high volumes of filings, and work independently with a supportive legal team. Strong research, communication, and negotiation skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• CA license required.
• 5–7 years civil litigation experience, including collections/creditors' rights.
• Experience appearing in court and handling hearings independently.
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and filings.
• Ability to review and sign high volumes of documents accurately.
• Proven settlement negotiation skills.
• Experience coaching juniors or staff is a plus.
• Excellent written/verbal communication and organization.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in court hearings and related proceedings.
• Review, approve, and sign numerous pleadings and filings.
• Manage litigation matters per CA court rules and deadlines.
• Review discovery materials and determine appropriate actions.
• Negotiate settlements with parties and opposing counsel.
• Prepare and file required legal documents on time.
• Coordinate with Managing Attorney, clients, and staff on case progress.
• Conduct legal research and analyze potential case outcomes.
• Collaborate with outside counsel when needed.
• Assist with client audits and compliance related to litigation.
• Stay updated on changes in debt collection laws.
