Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a senior architect for Defense Tech to define and advance C2 architectures across air, space, and cyber domains. You will shape roadmaps, validate new concepts, and work with customers to align needs with executable solutions.

The role requires extensive STEM experience, DoDAF/SysML proficiency, and an active TS clearance. Onsite work locations include Cedar Rapids, IA and other U.S. sites. Collaboration with strategy and engineering teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 12+ years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with 10+ years of experience.
• Experience with command-and-control systems, architectures, or mission workflows.
• Ability to perform system-level trades for complex mission systems.
• Familiarity with DoDAF, UML, or SysML frameworks.
• Active and transferable TS clearance and U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of C2 architectures that define the field and drive mission success.
• Validate cutting-edge architecture concepts in emerging C2 markets.
• Shape and execute technology roadmaps for future C2 capabilities.
• Partner with strategy teams to assess new C2 market opportunities.
• Lead system-level trades, modeling, and analysis to inform architecture decisions.
• Integrate EW concepts into cohesive, multidomain C2 architectures.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to transition concepts into baselines.
• Deliver architecture views, gap analyses, and capability roadmaps.
• Engage with customers and partners to refine operational needs.
• Represent the organization in internal and external technical forums to advance C2 innovations.
