Shield AI seeks a seasoned C++ generalist and systems integrator to lead high‑impact efforts across software, infrastructure, and simulation environments. You will shape foundational capabilities powering autonomy, simulation, and real-time interfaces across platforms.

With 7+ years of experience, you will design and implement large C++ systems, guide teams, and evolve CI/CD pipelines. Expect collaboration across cross‑functional teams and a strong focus on performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Advanced experience designing and maintaining large C++ systems.
• Fluency in C++14/17/20 with legacy codebase familiarity.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix development and debugging tools.
• Strong systems integration with distributed systems and real-time processing.
• CI/CD experience, containerization (Docker), and build tooling (CMake, Conan).
• Proficiency in Python and scripting/automation tools.
• Active SECRET clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience mentoring teams and leading multi-contributor efforts.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement high-performance C++ and Python systems across cross-platform environments.
• Lead design and integration of distributed systems, simulation tools, and third-party hardware/software.
• Define and enforce technical direction, design patterns, and integration practices.
• Guide teams in building robust messaging and API layers (gRPC, REST, ZeroMQ).
• Own CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Docker, Conan, and CMake.
• Lead debugging and optimization of real-time and multi-threaded systems.
• Drive end-to-end integration across simulation and operational systems.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to tooling and process improvements.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve performance, stability, and developer efficiency.
