Job summary

Roblox seeks a seasoned C++ programmer to lead frontend strategy within its Luau/Engine space. You will write core libraries, partner with cross-functional teams, and shape architecture for scalable, high-performance experiences across devices.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in system or mobile programming, strong C++, and an interest in Lua integration. Office presence at Roblox HQ in San Mateo, CA is expected with a mix of onsite days.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with significant knowledge of system or mobile programming.
• Proficiency in C++; Lua is a plus.
• Passion for building frameworks and libraries with strong design patterns.
• Performance-focused for cross-device platforms including mobile.
• Self-sufficient, organized and able to own projects end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary C++ expert in the team and drive frontend C++ strategy for the interface layer.
• Work with Engineering, Product, and Design to expand frontend ecosystems and drive tech improvements.
• Implement innovative solutions to feature requests and collaborate on new initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal team members and Roblox community developers to improve Lua App on Roblox.
