Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to shape Roblox’s consumer-facing frontend stack. You will define architecture, build scalable UI across Home, Avatar, Search, and more, and drive data flow and performance using React and Roblox’s Luau-based tooling.

You’ll collaborate with engineers across teams to deliver fast, reliable features that scale to millions of users. You’ll mentor engineers, establish frontend standards (Flux, MVC, MVVM), and advocate for maintainable code, strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software development, with frontend experience and large-scale applications.
• Deep expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript; React experience; component-based architecture and state management (Redux/Flux).
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript, Swift or Kotlin; willingness to learn others.
• Solid understanding of frontend design principles; create maintainable, testable code with unit/integration tests.
• Experience optimizing frontend performance; debugging, profiling, and perf improvements.
• Excellent communication; cross-functional collaboration and problem solving at scale.
• Experience across Web, iOS, Android, Windows, desktop; cross-platform considerations.
• Familiarity with C++ or low-level languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust systems powering Roblox’s core surfaces (Home, Avatar, Search, etc.).
• Create reusable frontend abstractions using React and modern tech for cross-team consistency.
• Maintain and evolve Roblox’s Luau UI libraries with modular design and state patterns.
• Define architecture standards to ensure scalable, testable frontend code (Flux, MVC, MVVM).
• Partner with engineering, product, and design to deliver cohesive user experiences.
• Address memory, responsiveness, and load-time challenges for fast UIs at scale.
• Provide architectural leadership, code reviews, and mentoring to engineers.
