Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking a senior software engineer to design and develop C++ infrastructure and services for Linux-based systems.

You will be responsible for unit and integration testing, maintenance, and documentation while ensuring compliance with software quality standards. Applicants should have strong experience in OOP, socket programming, and multi-threaded development, with DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher and progressive software development experience as described; twelve+ years with a bachelor’s, ten+ with a master’s, or seven+ with a PhD.
• Experience with C++ application development, OOP, TCP/UDP sockets, and multi-threaded Linux development.
• Desirable: GitLab, Git, SCM tools, Bash, Python, embedded SW development, SoC (Zynq Ultrascale), Xilinx SDK, PetaLinux, SPI/I2C/UART/Ethernet, kernel/user space, bootloaders, and open-source/Unit Testing tools.
• Able to understand concepts quickly, work independently or in teams, and obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop C++ infrastructure and services.
• Responsible for unit testing, integration testing, software maintenance, and documentation.
• Evaluate software integration within the computing environment.
• Communicate with domain experts, users, and management throughout the software lifecycle.
• Contribute to planning of application development and deployment.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Observe all laws and regulations in conducting business.
• Work overtime as needed.
