Job description

Senior C++ Software Engineer | Fixed Income Trading Platform

Location: Hybrid (3 days on-site) – Local Candidates Only

Work Authorization: US Citizen / Green Card (No visa sponsorship available)

Are you a pragmatic, hands-on C++ engineer who values system stability and long-term career growth over chasing the newest tech fads?

I am partnering with a globally recognized, top-tier brokerage firm to find a Senior C++ Software Engineer for their specialized fixed-income trading platform team. As the business continues to expand and onboard new markets, they are adding a critical engineer to a tight-knit, collaborative, and highly technically proficient group.

This is a unique opportunity: it is a designated succession-planning hire for the current engineering manager. We are looking for someone who wants to find a long-term home, get their hands dirty in complex code, and build robust market data and trading systems without the bureaucratic red tape of a massive investment bank.

The Tech Stack & Environment:

  • Core: 100% hands-on C and C++ in a pure Unix environment.
  • Architecture: Deep focus on Inter-Process Communication (IPC) — you will be dealing heavily with multiple applications connecting to shared memory segments and communicating via Unix signals.
  • Tools: Standard Unix command-line tools (vi, top) and GDB for investigating core files and production issues.
  • Bonus Points: Exposure to messaging/middleware (Solace, Google Protocol Buffers, RabbitMQ, Tibco) or basic financial domain knowledge (Bid/Offer, Equities, FX, etc.).

Who You Are:

  • Experienced: You bring 5–10+ years of solid software development experience (15+ years is also highly welcomed).
  • Pragmatic & Team-Oriented: You are a true team player. You aren\'t an "empire builder" looking to step purely into management, and you aren\'t looking to rewrite legacy systems from scratch. You respect that in a brokerage firm, mitigating risk and ensuring 100% system uptime is the absolute priority.
  • A "Jack-of-all-Trades": You enjoy end-to-end ownership, from writing code and building out market data feeds to jumping in and debugging critical production issues.
  • Seeking Stability: You want a permanent, stable role. (Note: If you have a heavily contract-based background, we are open to chatting, provided you are genuinely looking to transition into a long-term staff position).

Interview Process: Streamlined 4-round process, including a straightforward vendor-based C++ technical assessment (to highlight your core strengths) and a final leadership round.

If you are ready to make a high-impact move within the financial technology space, I want to hear from you.
