Job summary

Amalgamated Bank seeks a C&I Portfolio Manager/Team Lead to oversee risk and performance of the bank's commercial and nonprofit loan portfolio, including CDFI and owner-occupied financing, while providing senior credit judgement and leading the portfolio management team.

The role requires advanced C&I credit expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to influence outcomes across stakeholders. Hybrid work with on-site and remote flexibility is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced commercial credit experience.
• MBA/CRC/CFA/CPA preferred for senior level work.
• 10+ years of experience in commercial banking and C&I portfolio management.
• Experience with nonprofit, CDFI, owner-occupied financing and other borrowers.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level oversight of portfolio risk, performance trends, and emerging issues.
• Independently evaluate complex credits and non-routine structures.
• Review and approve complex credit recommendations and risk ratings.
• Lead portfolio management team and mentor AVP/VP staff.
• Identify opportunities to enhance tools, reporting, and workflows.
